2nd of June Talk by Kathryn Littlewood

Friday 2nd of June 12:00-13:00 Cultivating Mad Cow by Kathryn Littlewood

Kathryn Littlewood, former child protection social worker, author of ‘Cultivating Mad Cow’.

In this talk, Kathryn will interpret social workers’ narratives and artwork on display at the exhibition by discussing her own experiences of social work practice. Kathryn worked in social work for ten years until she was signed off sick in 2004. She only returned to work for three days before she attempted to take her own life by jumping off a building. She now spends her time working for a progressive disability user led organisation as a development worker, and giving talks and lectures on subjects related to a book she has written about her experiences, Cultivating Mad Cow. By writing and talking about her experiences of surviving death, it has helped her make sense of her journey and rebuild her life in a meaningful way.
